ABOUT ME

I have spent the majority of my life in the beautiful state of West Virginia. I am a proud husband to a wonderful, hardworking wife, and father to an awesome little boy. Some of my hobbies and interests include writing (fiction, poetry/lyrics), drawing, painting, grilling/cooking, kayaking, golfing, hiking, watching basketball and baseball, listening to music, and watching movies. I enjoy relaxing on a quiet beach, traveling, and the outdoors in general. I suffer from a serious case of 80's/90's nostalgia, like most from my generation. I like to stay up late, but I also love the early morning, so that makes for a lot of caffeine intake.
Throughout my grade school years, I was always sketching characters and making my own little comics and stories. After many years of sporadic writing, sculpting, and drawing, my wife became pregnant and it sparked some dormant creativity inside me. I made several paintings for our son's nursery and just kept on going. I found any excuse to create, whether it was home projects, holiday gifts for family, or sketches for co-workers.
In early 2017 I was fortunate enough to be offered a long-term illustration gig from a New England area robotics start-up, for which I have drawn over 200 employee cartoon portraits, as well as several other illustrated commissions. I have been accepted into the Tamarack (Best of West Virginia) art system as a digital illustrator, where I have entered a handful of exhibits. I always have several projects going on, such as 1 completed independent children's book, and two others I am in the process of illustrating. As of mid-2021 I have become highly addicted to abstract/non-representational painting. It gives me a sense of freedom I've not experienced in the creative world. It feels good to say that I am staying busy and finally doing what I was always meant to do. As the cliche goes, it's better late than never.
